The collection of Afonso Oliveira, comprising over 5,000 items related to perfumery and cosmetics, takes visitors through more than 150 years of history.
Since the first factory of Thomas Mendonça and Sons, established in 1850 on the Calçada do Combro, to the present day, the history of Lisboa’s perfumery is on display at the Museum of Lisboa.
The collection of Afonso Oliveira, comprising over 5,000 items related to perfumery and cosmetics, takes visitors through more than 150 years of history, from the research and production of new fragrances to the persistence of some brands that remain active and continue to manufacture in Lisboa today.
