Considered one of Germany's leading orchestras, the Berliner Symphoniker began its activity in 1967, then called Symphonisches Orchester Berlin. Renamed in 1990, this is the first time it has performed in Portugal.

The Berliner Symphoniker is the resident orchestra at the Phillarmonie in Berlin, one of the most important concert halls in the world, known for its exceptional acoustics and unique architecture.
