SESIMBRA
Dance, competitions and Samba... and plenty of high jinks are the explosive ingredients for this huge carnival party.
Sesimbra's lively carnival tradition takes the form of parades by the Samba groups and schools, involving over two thousand dancers, and the traditional clowns' parade, one of the world's biggest, where they show off the creativity and innovation of their costumes and masks in a mass parade full of colour and creativity.
The nights are also livened up with ambient music, concerts and DJs.
The programme also includes the traditional cegadas, who are traditionally dressed people with guitars singing parodies in verse, with the objective of making the audience laugh.
