French Film Festival'23

Lisboa once again hosts the French Film Festival, a great cinema celebration.

‘Bold, free and creative’, this is how one might describe the 24th edition of the French Film Festival which starts with the exhibition of ‘Jeanne du Barry – The King’s Favourite’, a film directed by Maïwenn that opened the last edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

The many foreseen sessions once again include a selection of premieres of newly produced works in France and sections like ‘Cinema à Mesa’ (‘Cinema at the Table’), dedicated to gastronomy or the new section ‘Pronto-a-Filmar’ (‘Ready to Film’) with two films dedicated to fashion.

Other highlights of the festival are the film ‘Second Chance’ which confirms the opportunity to see some films on the big screen once again, and the meetings with filmmakers Cristèle Alves Meira, who brings the feature film ‘Alma Viva’, and Maria de Medeiros, who presents the restored copy of her film ‘Capitães de Abril’, anticipating the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the revolution on 25th April 1974.
