Piero della Francesca

MNAA-Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga | Altarpiece of the Hermits of Saint Augustine - belonging to the Museo Poldi Pezzoli, by Piero della Francesca (c. 1412-1492), one of the exponents of the Renaissance.

The MNAA presents, in comparison, the paintings Saint Augustine, from the MNAA collection, and Saint Nicholas Tolentino, belonging to the Museo Poldi Pezzoli, by Piero della Francesca (c. 1412-1492), one of the exponents of the Renaissance.

Both were part of the polyptych of the convent of Saint Augustine in Borgo Sansepolcro, Piero's birthplace and residence, a work contracted in 1454, but only completed in 1469.
