The exhibition “PREC – Parlamento Revisto em Caricatura | O Parlamento na Caricatura de Imprensa (1974-1976)" is on display at the Casa do Parlamento - Centro Interpretativo | Rua de São Bento, in front of the Assembly of the Republic until September 12, from Monday to Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

It includes 50 caricatures published in national newspapers and magazines between 1974 and 1976, which depict the events that led to the approval of the Constitution and the work of the first Assembly of the Republic.

The exhibition is divided into six sections:

" O embaraço da escolha", which illustrates the proliferation, after the 1974 Revolution, of associations and political parties from all ideological spectrums.

" O voto é a arma do povo", with images alluding to the preparation of the elections for the Constituent Assembly, from the census to the electoral campaign marked by the guerra de cartazes".

" E ainda a procissão vai no adro", about the work of the Constituent Assembly of 1975-1976 and the process of approving the Constitution.

" Nem só de revoluções vive o homem", which portrays the process of the first legislative elections, held on April 25, 1976.

" Amanhã respondo-lhes na Assembleia", which presents caricatures about the beginning of the functioning of the Assembly of the Republic.

" Prontos?", which takes stock of the year 1976 and a preview of the following year.
