Catch one of the trams that traverse the hills of Lisbon and visit the historic bairros where life goes on as usual and the clothes lines greet the countless sunny days.
The no. 12 tram follows a circular route through the historic neighbourhoods, bairros, and the hills at the eastern end of Lisbon.
It sets off in Praça da Figueira, crosses Martim Moniz and Socorro and climbs up to the Miradouro das Portas do Sol.
It then descends towards the Miradouro de Santa Luzia, says hello to the cathedral and ends back at Praça da Figueira.
It’s the perfect form of transport if you don’t want to end up breathless or lost when trying to reach some of historic and panoramic Lisbon’s best tourist attractions.
Catch the no. 12 to discover another side of Lisbon where the streets, alleys and lanes are connected by steps and passageways in an intricate labyrinth that you can get out of – if you follow the tram’s bell.
