In the Dark
Featuring drawings, paintings and three–dimensional objects, the In the Dark exhibition brings together more than 200 works by Rosa Carvalho.
Over the years, she has kept her work focused on depicting landscapes.
However, In the Dark is the result of an exercise undertaken where she paints inside a windowless room with no contact with the outdoors and no natural light.
In the darkness, the canvas is only illuminated by light from the projector, and the colours are selected due to their proximity, only detected when they are applied to canvas or paper.
