Ponte Vasco da Gama

Point of Interest

The Vasco da Gama Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge which runs over the Tagus Estuary, in the greater Lisbon area. Connecting the county of Alcochete to Lisbon and Sacavém, through Parque das Nações, where Expo 98 was held, it is the longest bridge in the European Union.

Varino riverboat “O Boa Viagem” (Tour on the Tagus)

Point of Interest

With the aim of protecting the cultural heritage the River Tagus, between June and October the local council organizes several trips aboard varino riverboat “O Boa Viagem”. In addition to its recreational purposes, this initiative aims to offer a different perspective of Moita and its neighbouring counties, besides promoting the traditional Tagus riverboats and their unique features.

Parque Tejo / Riverside promenade

Point of Interest

“Caminho da Costa”, meaning “path along the coast”, was the name given to this riverside area for the Lisbon World Exhibition in 1998, since its proximity to the river allows permanent visual contact with the water element. Fully pedestrianized and wooded with Portuguese stone pines, this area offers inviting shades which are ideal for sitting back, reading and other leisure activities.

Ferry Crossing (Trafaria - Porto Brandão - Belém)

Public transportation

Crossing the Tagus between Belém, Porto Brandão and Trafaria, this ferry carries both passengers and vehicles, and provides access to the São João Beaches at Costa da Caparica.
