São Vicente de Fora Museum

Come and discover this unique church and its history, which dates back to the reconquest of Lisbon and the centuries that followed right up to today.

The convent and church of São Vicente de Fora are such important buildings and their historical legacy so significant to Lisbon that they have their own museum to analyse and exhibit their collection of paintings, sculptures, gold and clothing.

The museum, which is organised around four sections, deserves special mention for the largest collection of Baroque azulejo tiles under one roof, as well as trails showing how this art form developed – with a compulsory stop at the impressive Galeria das Fábulas (Gallery of Fables).

Come and discover this unique church and its history, which dates back to the reconquest of Lisbon and the centuries that followed right up to today.
