Festa do Cinema Italiano / Italian Film Festival is the leading festival in Portugal for those who are passionate about the italian films and culture.
The biggest event dedicated to Italian culture in Portugal marks its 18th edition.
With a programme that includes national premieres and sessions with film directors, the festival also offers side events that go beyond the cinemas, to celebrate the best of Italian cinematography.
The Great Ambition, by Andrea Segre, about the historical leader of the Italian Communist Party is the film that opens this edition.
Other highlights include a retrospective of the filmmaker Antonio Pietrangeli, who explores themes such as loneliness, female emancipation and the contradictions of modern society, always with a touch of humour and irony.
