The aim of this exhibition is to bring together documentary and photographic elements from a range of works designed and built by Norte Júnior, offering the non-specialised public an attractive and informed view of the characteristics and quality of the work of this architect, who chose Sintra as his place of life.

Manuel Joaquim Norte Júnior (1878-1962), an architect and Sintra native "by adoption", was one of the most significant authors of eclectic architecture in Portugal. With a vast and prolific career, he left an impressive legacy, spanning several stylistic phases over time, from Art Nouveau and "Casa Portuguesa" to Modernism and the architecture of the Estado Novo.
