After the Silence - Christiane Jatahy

In After the Silence, Christiane Jatahy draws parallels between the enslavement of the past and contemporary society, emphasizing its enduring influence on global politics and the lives of countless displaced individuals.

Inspired by Itamar Vieira Junior’s novel Torto Arado, the performance intertwines the struggles of a rural Bahian community with Eduardo Coutinho’s documentary Cabra marcada para morrer.

By highlighting the recurrence of these atrocities in modern-day Brazil, the play invites us to confront our past and consider its implications for the future.
